Starting 10/1/2023 – USCIS will increase the maximum validity for initial and renewal EADs to 5 years for those admitted as refugees, granted asylum, recipients of withholding of removal and for applicants for asylum, adjustment of status and cancellation of removal.
USCIS is also aiming to improve processing times for EAD applicants for certain parolees who are immediately eligible for work authorization
DHS has re-designated and extended TPS for Venezuelans.
Venezuelans in the USA as of 7/31/2023 are eligible to register for TPS; and those who previously received TPS under the prior designation are eligible to extend TPS for an additional 18 months

What is Reciprocity?
Nonimmigrant visa applicants from certain countries*/areas of authority may be required to pay a visa issuance fee after their application is approved. These fees are based on the principle of reciprocity: when a foreign government imposes fees on U.S. citizens for certain types of visas, the United States will impose a reciprocal fee on citizens of that country*/area of authority for similar types of visas.
