Immigration Attorney

Sandra Saltrese-Miller, Esq.

SANDRA SALTRESE-MILLER, an experienced immigration attorney,  has fought for the rights of immigrants for three decades. She has represented scores of clients in immigration court and federal court. Before opening her own immigration law firm, she was the supervising immigration lawyer at one of Denver’s most well established (now dissolved) nonprofit immigration clinics, where she defended indigent immigrants against deportation.  Ms. Saltrese-Miller  specializes in all areas of litigation from removal defense in immigration court to appellate cases. 

She filed the first Violence Against Women immigration case in Colorado. She co-counseled the first constitutional challenge against the government’s restrictive immigration legislation in the Tenth Circuit Appeals Court. See Jurado-Gutierrez v. Gonzalez.  This talented immigration lawyer successfully litigated the first illegal disclosure asylum case in Colorado, where she halted deportation of asylum seekers whose asylum materials were illegally disclosed to their country of origin. Ms Saltrese-Miller also specializes in professional visas for scientists, artists, and academic scholars. Her clients have spanned the spectrum from Mayan asylum seekers to Austrian world famous ballet dancers.

Sandra Saltrese-Miller graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Anthropology and a minor in Latin American Studies from the University of Colorado in 1978. She did graduate work in Anthropology towards a M.A. degree at the New School For Social Research, New York, NY, from 1978-1980. She earned her Law Degree from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1989, and is a member of the Colorado Bar, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Throughout her legal career Sandra has focused on representation of noncitizens, and has also taught law  -- as a lecturer -- at the University of Colorado, School of Law, University of Denver, College of Law, and Environmental Justice at Naropa University. She has been the Legal & Policy Director of Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence, in Boulder, from November 2008  through 2011 where she coordinated weekly immigration clinics for undocumented families in distress. 

She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French. She has been designated a Super Lawyer since 2015.

Chloe Surage

Chloe is a Colorado native. She received a Bachelor's degree in Humanities and a Minor in Ethnic Studies -- summa cum laude --from the University of Colorado Boulder with a focus in Spanish, multi-cultural leadership and social justice work. Her own multi-cultural background – Mexican-American, Italian and Polish -- and international volunteer work in Peru and the Dominican Republic has informed her desire to serve and support under-represented and marginalized communities.

Chloe has over 6 years of experience working in immigration law. She currently works part-time as support staff for the law firm and is focusing on being a stay-at-home mother to her two-year-old son. Chloe takes pride in helping people of all backgrounds navigate their immigration cases while ensuring that the office runs efficiently. Chloe speaks English and Spanish.
